Thank you for being a Trekker and now an ambassador for living organ donation. Living donation is not for everyone. But everyone can help by being an advocate, someone aware of the facts and can dispel the myths. The standout facts are that 22 people a day die on the waitlist, most wait for kidneys, and 97% of kidney donors would do it again. You don’t have to match for your intended recipient to get a kidney. And age has become less and less of a factor in donating--people can donate into their late 70s, with several cases of living donors in their 80s.
